Regular maintenance
All-in-the-ear hearing aid
To keep your aids clean, wipe gently with a soft tissue and brush carefully using the brush provided. Remove wax build-up using a cleaning loop and spray wax remover. Never use any other kind of cleaning materials or water as they may cause damage.
Be careful with the tubing at the opening of the sound outlet. If this is pulled out, your hearing aid may need to be repaired.
Behind-the-ear hearing aid
Signs that the tubing and mould may need cleaning include wax build-up, need to use higher volume or the aid appearing dead. Keep the moulds free of wax, as this will prevent you from hearing properly.
Batteries
Battery life depends on the type of aid, how much it is used, volume level and battery quality. A depleted battery should be removed immediately. When battery power is low, you may hear a series of short beeps indicating the battery should be replaced.
Hidden Hearing supply only top-quality batteries. Because we buy stock in bulk we are able to offer generous discounts on normal high street prices. It’s a good idea to keep spares on hand.
Batteries are available at our branches and via mail order. Use our branch locator or ring freephone
