People with moderate hearing loss have triple the chance of developing dementia

Early testing can prevent later problems. Recent studies have shown that people with mild hearing loss are twice as likely to suffer from memory loss and that people with moderate hearing loss are five times more likely to develop dementia. Hearing plays a huge part in cognitive function and untreated hearing loss can lead to cognitive decline, memory loss and dementia. Remember, hearing care is self-care.

Loudest Farmyard Animal Revealed

With up 300,000 people expected to visit the Ploughing Championships this year and a lot of machinery and animals on show, a new survey which we conducted has revealed that the pig is the loudest animal on the farm.

Hidden Hearing analysed decibel levels of common farm animals as well as farm machinery, with pig squeals the loudest on the farm at 100 decibels. Unsurprisingly the shotgun is the loudest piece of farm machinery/equipment at 140 decibels and poses a severe risk for noise-induced hearing loss when used without the correct protective equipment.
