The PRSI grant is a government-funded benefit designed to help with the cost of hearing aids. It provides €500 for each hearing aid or €1,000 in total if you require two devices. This can be applied to the cost of hearing aids once every fourth calendar year.
This support is part of the Department of Social Protection’s Treatment Benefit Scheme. The grant is deducted from the price of your hearing aids, so you pay less upfront.
The number of contributions required depends on your age and work history. Our team will verify your eligibility using your PPS number during your free hearing test appointment.

Using your PPS number, we check your eligibility for the PRSI Treatment Benefit Scheme, confirming if you or your dependent qualify for a grant.
If your hearing test recommends hearing aids and you're eligible for the PRSI grant, Hidden Hearing will help you choose suitable devices and handle all DSP grant application paperwork.
Once your PRSI grant is approved (up to €500 per aid, €1,000 per pair every four years), our hearing care experts will fit your new hearing aids.

Hidden Hearing is an approved supplier of the hearing aid grant scheme, and we are familiar with the application process. We know that application forms can be tedious, and we regularly help our patients complete and submit their Treatment Benefit Scheme application.
If you have moderate, severe or profound hearing loss, we recommend custom-built hearing aids with advanced technology to suit you hearing loss. You may need to supplement the purchase price. PRSI contributions criteria varies.
