One of Northern Ireland's best-known broadcasting personalities, Julian Simmons, has been announced as the new Northern Ireland Ambassador for Hidden Hearing drawing on his long-standing connection with audiences across the region, Julian will help raise awareness of hearing health and encourage more people to seek support when they notice changes in their hearing.

Julian has been a familiar presence in homes across Northern Ireland for generations. Now, as he joins forces with Hidden Hearing, he hopes to encourage more people to recognise the importance of looking after their hearing and to seek support when changes occur.

Hearing loss affects thousands of people across Northern Ireland, yet many delay seeking help for years, often missing out on conversations with family and friends or becoming increasingly isolated. Hidden Hearing hopes Julian's involvement will help spark more open conversations about hearing health and encourage people to act sooner.

Julian Simmons said: "Throughout my broadcasting career, radio and television have allowed me to connect with people across Northern Ireland, so this partnership feels especially meaningful to me.

Hearing is something many of us take for granted until it begins to change. If sharing my voice can encourage someone to get their hearing checked, or start a conversation they've been putting off, then I'll be delighted."

As part of the partnership, Julian will feature as the voice of Hidden Hearing's upcoming radio and television campaigns, while also attending events across Northern Ireland to meet members of the public to promote better understanding of hearing loss and the benefits of early intervention.

Research consistently shows that people often wait several years before seeking help for hearing difficulties, despite effective treatments and hearing technology being widely available.

Tim Pringle, Chief Audiologist at Hidden Hearing, said: "Julian is one of Northern Ireland's most recognisable and trusted broadcasters, and we're thrilled to welcome him as our ambassador. His warmth, humour and genuine connection with audiences make him the ideal person to help raise awareness of hearing health."

Hidden Hearing is one of Ireland's leading hearing healthcare providers, with 13 clinics across Northern Ireland, offering hearing assessments, hearing technology and ongoing support and aftercare.
