Enda Dooley is our resident audiologist at our Ballsbridge clinic. Enda was the winner of this year’s O’Sullivan, Quigley Award at Hidden Hearing’s annual conference. This award is for Best in Service Customer Service and was named after two hearing aid dispensers who sadly passed away a number of years ago. Both dispensers were recognised for their outstanding contributions and inspirations to others and for the exceptional customer service that they delivered in always going above and beyond patient expectations.

My name is Enda, and I understand hearing loss better than most. I have a family history of hearing loss, and I wanted a challenging and caring role to help improve the quality of life for those with hearing difficulties. I am passionate about hearing health and personally invested in preventing the negative impact of hearing loss. My goal is to improve the quality of life for sufferers, their families, and friends.

Hidden Hearing has earned a reputation for excellence, helping patients hear since opening its doors 30 years ago. My work affords me the privilege of meeting, diagnosing and treating patients of all ages with diverse audiological conditions. Not only that, I form lifelong relationships with patients who avail of Hidden Hearings free aftercare services, which is incredibly rewarding. I hold a Higher Education Diploma in Hearing Aid Audiology (Dip HAA) from Queen Margaret University (QMU), UK.

Seeing and hearing about the life-changing difference our consultation and fitting of hearing aids makes to patients, families, and friends inspires me to be the best audiologist that I can be.
As a natural carer, I derive enormous satisfaction watching a patient who is nervous, frustrated or in denial transform into a confident person and to hear they are reconnecting with life and loved ones. It's inspiring to see patients becoming themselves again.

I treated a young patient from Wexford who had hearing loss from early childhood. She wore hearing aids prescribed by a competitor clinic and was unhappy with the quality of sound. When I recommended Oticon hearing aid technology, her hearing and life transformed. This lady nominated me for Audiologist of the Year in 2015, and I am proud to say that I won the title, despite stiff competition. Although I now work in Dublin, she continues to attend my clinic, and there is no doubt in my mind that wearing hearing aids all day every day has improved her quality of life.

I strongly suggest you don't delay treatment for hearing loss. Timely intervention enables effective treatment to improve long-term hearing ability by preventing or slowing further decline—moreover, the cost of hearing aids increases as hearing declines. My name is Joseph and I know first-hand how hearing loss can affect daily life. Having attended audiologists from an early age, I took an interest in the profession. Inspired by the audiologist who helped me, I decided to pursue a career in audiology to help others, like me, experience and enjoy life's sounds. Hidden Hearing offers life-changing hearing healthcare.

Hearing technology enables miracles, and I am delighted to play my part in connecting the patient to the right technology and a world of sounds. The new technology coming on the market is fascinating. The level of clarity from modern hearing aids is getting better all the time and the connectivity via mobile and tablets is hugely beneficial for people with hearing loss.
I am currently on my 2nd year of Higher Education Diploma in Hearing Aid Audiology (H.Dip HAA) from Queen Margaret University (QMU), UK. I intend to pursue a degree in Audiology thereafter.
I get great satisfaction seeing the transformation in my patients following their hearing aid fitting. They grow in confidence and become more conversational , gaining a newfound appreciation for sound and a new lease of life.

I have treated patients in their teens right up to 102 years of age. Although hearing loss is common in the older generations, it can occur at any age. It's encouraging to know that my work can improve a patient’s hearing ability and prevent further auditory decline.

Hearing loss is more common than you think. I strongly recommend people take regular hearing tests, even if they think their hearing is fine. Hearing loss often goes undetected, and people with hearing decline subconsciously read lips and facial expressions to aid understanding. If hearing loss is caught early, treatment can prevent or slow further deterioration, and the sufferer can avoid the frustration and anguish caused by the inability to hear.
Even if you do not have hearing loss, everyone should have a baseline hearing screening carried out

Excellent caring service. High quality expertise. Enda is first class. Did a hearing test, Enda spent the time to ensure he had the right information- then explained my hearing very simply and effectively. I am now able to manage and understand my hearing. I explained this also to my family who too can now understand and help me. The aids that were demonstrated are excellent- lot more effective than my old pair, Enda synchronised them to my particular hearing patterns. Delighted - highly recommended.
