It is important to remember that hearing loss often happens gradually, and it might be difficult for you to notice changes in your hearing. The examples provided above are signs of hearing loss, and if you experience one or more of them, we recommend getting your hearing tested.

Why should you consider taking a hearing test?
If you experience symptoms of hearing loss, or if a friend or loved one recognises that you have signs of hearing loss, we advise getting your hearing tested as soon as possible. Even in cases of mild hearing loss, it is good to be proactive and seek treatment as early as possible. Hearing loss can worsen if it is left untreated. Barry Ormond

Hearing Aid Audiologist

My name is Barry Ormond. I chose to become an audiologist because I am naturally fascinated by Hearing and the phenomenon of sound, and I wanted to pursue a career that satisfies my curiosity and supports my passion.
I wanted to pursue a career in medicine, and Audiology sounded interesting. On completion of my studies, I started my career with Hidden Hearing, and I can honestly say that it is the job of my dreams. It's challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and I get to make a positive difference, improving people's Hearing and quality of life.

We provide a professional, expert service, treating patients with dignity and respect. We earn our patients trust and enjoy lifelong relationships, providing free aftercare services for hearing aid users.
Our industry is constantly evolving. We are learning more about the impact of hearing loss on the individual and the correlation between hearing loss and other medical conditions.

Hearing diagnostics and hearing aid technologies continuously improve, delivering better style and comfort and an enhanced sound experience. It's exciting to be working at the cutting-edge of hearing health. I get great satisfaction seeing the transformation in my patients following their hearing aid fitting. They grow in confidence and become more conversant, gaining a newfound appreciation for sound and a new lease of life.

Hearing Aid Audiologist
Jonathan Mooney

Hearing Aid Audiologist

My name is Jonathan Mooney, and I was drawn to a career in audiology because I want to make a positive difference in people's lives, helping them overcome the stigmas and challenges of hearing loss. I am committed to assisting patients in coming to terms with their diagnosis and taking control of their loss in a timely manner. Early intervention can prevent withdrawal, isolation, depression, and many other adverse effects of hearing loss. I feel incredibly privileged to be in a position to help my patients.

Hidden Hearing genuinely cares for patients and is committed to improving lives and giving back to local communities. It is a business with a true purpose.
Each patient is unique, and you are always learning on the job. When a patient presents with profound hearing loss, it's nice to know that I can make an enormous difference to their quality of life. Witnessing the transformation over the months that follow inspires me to be the best audiologist that I can be.

I strongly recommend people take regular hearing tests, even if they think their hearing is fine. Hearing loss often goes undetected, and people with hearing decline subconsciously read lips and facial expressions to aid understanding. If hearing loss is caught early, treatment can prevent or slow further deterioration, and the sufferer can avoid the frustration and anguish caused by the inability to hear.
