Book a hearing test

it is important to remember that hearing loss often happens gradually, and it might be difficult for you to notice changes in your hearing. The examples provided above are signs of hearing loss, and if you experience one or more of them, we recommend getting your hearing tested.

Why should you consider taking a hearing test?
If you experience symptoms of hearing loss, or if a friend or loved one recognises that you have signs of hearing loss, we advise getting your hearing tested as soon as possible. Even in cases of mild hearing loss, it is good to be proactive and seek treatment as early as possible. Hearing loss can worsen if it is left untreated. After all, your sense of hearing gives you the ability to connect with the world around you.

Hearing Aid Audiologist
Georgina Hawkesworth

Hearing Aid Audiologist

“I have fitted the oldest man in Ireland with hearing aids, Michael O Connor. Michael is a young and spritely 107 years of age.”

My name is Georgina, I understand hearing loss better than most, as there is hearing loss in my family which had a profound impact on everyone. My family member withdrew from socialisation, conversation, and life. I am passionate about hearing health and personally invested in preventing the negative impact of hearing loss for improved quality of life.

Hidden Hearing genuinely cares for patients and is committed to enhancing lives and giving back to local communities. It is a business with a true purpose. Seeing a patient's expression change from despair to absolute joy when they experience hearing after years of frustration is the most rewarding part of my work.

Patients grow in confidence and become more conversant, gaining a newfound appreciation for sound and a new lease of life.
There is a stigma associated with hearing loss. Some patients feel that it signals old age. That's not the case. One in five people suffer from hearing loss, and it can affect people of all ages. I believe that education is the key to acceptance. People should be encouraged to undertake periodic hearing health checks because positive hearing health is essential to social, psychological, and mental wellbeing. Take action at the earliest possible point. Aided hearing loss is proven to have a slower rate of decline than unaided loss and the cognitive load alone of hearing loss is so detrimental. Early intervention is key in successfully treating loss and preventing bigger issues into the future.

Hearing Aid Audiologist

“I consider myself a lucky one to have figured out what I love to do!”

My name is Jim Williamson. I chose to become an audiologist because I am naturally fascinated by Hearing and the phenomenon of sound, and I wanted to pursue a career that satisfies my curiosity and supports my passion.

I wanted to pursue a career in medicine, and Audiology sounded interesting. On completion of my studies, I started my career with Hidden Hearing, and I can honestly say that it is the job of my dreams. It's challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and I get to make a positive difference, improving people's Hearing and quality of life.

I have been working with Hidden Hearing Cork for 14 years now. We provide a professional, expert service, treating patients with dignity and respect. We earn our patients trust and enjoy lifelong relationships, providing free aftercare services for hearing aid users.
Our industry is constantly evolving. We are learning more about the impact of hearing loss on the individual and the correlation between hearing loss and other medical conditions.

Hearing diagnostics and hearing aid technologies continuously improve, delivering better style and comfort and an enhanced sound experience. It's exciting to be working at the cutting-edge of hearing health. I get great satisfaction seeing the transformation in my patients following their hearing aid fitting. They grow in confidence and become more conversant, gaining a newfound appreciation for sound and a new lease of life.
