History and Founding

The first Hidden Hearing clinic in Ireland opened in Cork in 1987. The company was established as part of a broader hearing healthcare business founded by Hans Demant, who sought to help his wife, Camilla Demant, find a hearing solution suited to her individual needs.

Duncan Graham - General Manager. Appointed in September 2023, Graham previously held senior retail leadership positions at Brown Thomas and Specsavers acrosss Ireland, the UK, and Spain.

Dolores Madden - Marketing Director and Senior Audiologist. Madden joined Hidden Hearing in 1989 and was appointed Marketing Director in 2003. She is also a board member of ISHAA (Irish Society of Hearing Aid Audiolgists).

Tara Finnegan - Sales Director for Ireland and Northern Ireland. Finnegan's career with Hidden Hearing began in customer service and progressed through roles including Clinic Coordinator, Regional Manager, Operations Manager, and Global Commercial Trainer before her appointment as Sales Director.

Community Initiatives and Awards

Campaign for Better Hearing - In 2018, Hidden Hearing launched the Campaign for Better Hearing, an intiative focused on making hearing care more accessible across Ireland. The campaign includes a Giveback Program that provides state-of-the-art hearing aids free of charge to individuals who need them most. To date, Hidden Hearing has donated over €220,000 worth of hearing aids through this programme. Each year, a Gift of Hearing contest selects recipients ranging in age from 16 to 95 to receive hearing aids at no cost.

Hidden Hearing Heroes Awards - Established in 2011, the Hidden Hearing Heroes Awards honour deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals who have made significant contributions to Irish society, their community, workplace, family, or through sporting excellence. The programme is run in partnership with the Irish Deaf Society. Categories have expanded over the years to include Immigrant Heroes, Diversity Heroes, and Sustainability Heroes. The 2023 ceremony took place at The InterContinental Dublin and was hosted by broadcaster Mary Kennedy.
